Fall Update
A Bit of a Busy Season
It’s been a while since my last update! Between juggling various projects and diving into self-study, I almost forgot I had this blog. Things are starting to settle down a bit as the semester enters its final full month.
As for what I’ve been working on… well, it’s been a lot of paperwork, especially for my senior capstone project. If it were up to me, I’d have mapped out a pseudo plan and already started coding, but we’re required to use a blend of agile and waterfall workflows. While it’s not terrible, it sometimes feels like overkill. I get why these workflows matter for businesses, but I can’t help wishing my degree were more geared toward becoming a Systems Admin than a Systems Analyst. The curriculum isn’t bad, but newer students in my major now have a more appealing range of courses.
Other Updates
Aside from that small rant, graduation is finally on the horizon—just five more courses to go in the spring! I’ll be wrapping up the capstone series, taking some major courses, and finishing a few business requirements. I’m not particularly thrilled about the COBOL course, though. It feels outdated, especially with so many better options available today.
That’s about it for now. I’ll be back with another post in a few days to a week, sharing updates on my home lab and some recent additions and removals I’ve been working on. Stay tuned!
